However, the arrival of a young college student prompts the man to finally form a meaningful relationship with someone
Tale
Mexico City, 1950s, an American immigrant in his forties lives a lonely life in the middle of a small American community. Daniel Craig was the one who finally convinced Luca Guadagnino to cast Drew Starkey after watching Guadagnino’s audition tapes and telling him “That’s the guy” after watching Starkey.
William Lee: Sit Down!
Or What’s Left of Him After Four Years in the Navy. On The Graham Norton Show: Daniel Craig/Nicola Coughlan/Jesse Eisenberg/Kieran Culkin/Flo (2024).
The chemistry in this film is unreal
What a beautiful film by Guadagnino about desire as something transcendental and burdensome at the same time. A film that beautifully captures a story rich in almost supernatural eroticism about bodies and touch.
I’m glad I got to see this film, but it’s not for everyone, especially those who don’t want to wrap their heads around all the twists and turns of the narrative
With a mysterious ending and sex scenes that some prudes might find over the top, Guadagnino is one of the few great artists who hasn’t renounced lust as an instrument in his storytelling, and that’s beautiful. Queer takes a remarkable approach through sound and hallucinatory representation of how sex is such a powerful experience for humans and such a fundamental part of being human that it can’t be omitted from stories for the sake of audience gratification, Queer challenges you.
The set design and cinematography are excellent, the scenes beautifully composed, and the acting is excellent
Daniel Craig can break your heart doing so little, and Queer feels like just another step on a new journey from Knives Out for someone who wants to be more than the iconic 007.
